The Military History Center in Broken Arrow  is hosting a Flag Day Ceremony at the Center’s museum location in the Rose District of Broken Arrow on June 15. 

The museum is at 112 North Main Street in downtown Broken Arrow. 

Flag Day is on Friday June 14 but the ceremony will be on  June 15 at 11 a.m. to allow more of the public to attend. 

A ceremonial raising of the American Flag, Service Branch flags, Medal of Honor flag, Army and Air National Guard flags, and the 45th Infantry Division flag will be done by veterans representing each flag. 

The ceremony is free and open to the public.

The ceremony will start with a flyover by the Spirit of Tulsa Squadron, Commemorative Air Force.  

The guest speaker for this event will be Oklahoma’s First District Representative Kevin Hern, R-Oklahoma. 

Miss Maggie Bond, 2019 Miss Broken Arrow, will sing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs. 

A special presentation of medals will be made to World War II veteran Oscar (Junior) Nipps. 

The Military History Center, which represents all branches of the military service and has artifacts from all of America’s major wars, opens at 10 a.m. on Monday through Saturday and closes at 4 p.m. each day except for Tuesday and Thursday, when it remains open until 8 p.m.

Entrance to the museum is free on the day of this ceremony.
