In a light turnout on February 9, John M. Fothergill was elected Tulsa County Treasurer in a special election.

Fothergill got 3,772 votes (71%) over fellow Republican Francis Joseph Hart, III, with 1,522 votes (29%). That position was open after former Tulsa County Treasurer Dennis Semler retired last year.

Tulsa School Board

In the race for the Tulsa Public School Board, Office 2, Judith Barba won with a total of 201 votes (53%) over Marsha Francine Campbell with 104 votes (27%) and Theresa Hinman with 74 votes (20%).

Barba got more than 50% and won the seat without the need for an April 6 runoff. District 2 encompasses Kendall-Whittier, McKinley, Mitchell, Owen, Sequoyah, and Springdale elementary schools; Carver and Will Rogers College middle schools; and Booker T. Washington and Will Rogers College high schools.

Jenks School Bond Propositions

Jenks voters passed two school bond issues. Proposition 1 got 1,739 yes votes (78%) and 295 no votes (22%). Proposition 2 got 1,727 yes votes (77%) and 305 no votes (23%).

Owasso City Council

In Owasso, Alvin D. Fruga got 759 votes (63%) to defeat Kyle Davis, with 452 votes (37%), in the races for the Owasso City Council, Ward 2.

Owasso School Board

In the race for Owasso School Board Office No. 1, Stephanie Ruttman (578 votes, 31%) and Rick Lang (454 votes, 24%) were the top vote getters in a field of five candidates and will advance to the April 6 general election ballot.

Incumbent board member Pat Vanatta did not file for re-election. Kristin Vivar missed the runoff by 15 votes. She had 439 votes (23%) while Lynn Cagle had 253 votes (14%) and Lisa M. Anderson had 144 votes (8%).

Collinsville School Board

Ryan Flanary got 277 votes (64%) to win the Collinsville Public School Board race in Office No. 1. Tim Reed got 82 votes (19%) and James R. Roderick got 73 votes (17%).
