Two Tulsa senators serving as caucus chairs have pledged to work together in the 2020 Legislative Session currently underway.
Sen. Dave Rader, a Tulsa Republican elected to the Senate in 2016, is the Majority Caucus Chair. Rader helps develop the majority caucus agenda, presides over caucus meetings and assists with policy development. “I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues, as well as my Democratic counterpart, Sen. Kevin Matthews, this legislative session to move Oklahoma forward to become a Top 10 state,” Rader said.
Matthews, a Tulsa Democrat, is the Minority Caucus Chair. Matthews was elected to the Senate in 2014 after serving one term in the House of Representatives. As the Democratic Caucus Chair, he presides over minority caucus meetings and assists the Minority Leader with policy development.
“Sen. Rader and I have a special relationship as we have worked across party lines together in several instances when we have agreed that legislation would be good for Tulsa regardless of politics,” Matthews said.
