A third grade teacher decided to teach her students a lesson about diversity and the freedom to think and say what one believes. One day, at the beginning of the school day, she asked all of the students to separate into two groups based upon whether or not they liked President Trump or not. After the students separated, about half were on one side of the room and half were on the other. She then announced to the class that the anti-Trump students were the superior group and that the pro-Trump students were inferior to the other students in every way.

She then began to give the anti-Trump children extra privileges, such as second helpings at lunchtime, exclusive access to the best playground equipment, and five extra minutes at recess. The anti-Trump children sat in the front of the classroom, and the pro-Trump children were sent to sit in the back rows. The anti-Trump children were encouraged to play only with other anti-Trump children and to ignore the pro-Trump children. She often emphasized the differences between the two groups by singling out and exaggerating perceived negative aspects of a pro-Trump child in front of the entire classroom.

Soon, those children who were deemed “superior” became arrogant, bossy, and otherwise unpleasant to their “inferior” classmates. Their grades and academic performance suffered, as they were constantly belittled and shamed for any thoughts, ideas or statements they made. This prompted the pro-Trump children to resist the treatment they were receiving, but the teacher countered this by telling the anti-Trump children that the pro-Trump children were not to be allowed to speak and, if they tried to do so, the anti-Trump children were to spray them with water mixed with vinegar until the pro-Trump children were completely silenced.

The next week, when the students entered their classroom first thing in the morning, their teacher announced, “I have made a terrible mistake. Last week, I said that the pro-Trump children in the class were inferior to the anti-Trump children. This is wrong! The pro-Trump children are NOT inferior…….They are evil and deserve to die! The anti-Trump children in the class must kill them!” So they did.

THE END.
