Maria Seidler, who finished third in the House District GOP Primary on June 30, is asking the Oklahoma Supreme Court to disqualify first-place finisher Clay Iiams because he does not meet a six-month residency requirement.

Iiams is set to meet fellow Republican Margie Alfonso in the August 25 runoff election. The winner will face Democrat Rep. Melissa Provenzano in the November general election.

Seidler’s petition asks the Oklahoma Supreme Court to assume jurisdiction because she contends that the Oklahoma State Election Board improperly accepted Iiams’ filing. Iiams claims he was a registered Republican for at least six months before the primary but Seidler claims voting records show otherwise.

The petition asks the court to remove Iiams’ name from the August 25 ballot and replace it with Seidler.
