Now that summer is here, it’s time to re-open America and reject the isolation of the coronavirus scare.

It is tragic that more than 100,000 Americans have died from this deadly virus.

But it would also be tragic if Americans turned their backs on prosperity and productivity due to fear of another outbreak.

We know little about the coronavirus.

But there are some facts:

  • It is most deadly among Americans who are over 75 years old.
  • It targets those with underlying conditions, like diabetes or heart disease.
  • Children are less likely to suffer from it.
  • The virus won’t thrive in hot weather. (Viruses that mutate tend to weaken with each mutation).

People are much more aware of the danger of viruses. The nation is cleaner. People are eating better. Sick people are staying home. Nursing homes are very careful.

But the truth is that most of us won’t be affected by the coronavirus and the vast majority of those infected will recover.

Depression, suicide and despair has skyrocketed as people stayed locked up in their homes, lost their jobs and struggled financially.

America endured World War II and came back stronger. Americans can do that again with the coronavirus.

It’s time to get back to work.
