The transfer of Oklahoma linebacker Jon-Michael Terry became official when the Tulsa native and Victory Christian Academy graduate began classes at The University of Tulsa.   

Terry comes to Tulsa as a graduate transfer following five years with the Sooners. He totaled 52 career tackles in 42 games and was named to the Big 12 Academic First Team in each of his final two seasons. During  2020 , Terry totaled 23 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, a pass breakup and two QB hurries in nine games with two starts.

After redshirting in 2016 as a true freshman, Terry played in 13 games in 2017 and finished with eight tackles. He moved into the starting lineup as a junior and started the first six games of 2019 before suffering a season-ending injury in the Texas game.

Terry totaled 16 tackles in his injury-shortened junior campaign before returning for the 2020 season.

As a senior at Victory Christian, Terry made 175 tackles  with seven TFL, four sacks and two fumble recoveries. In his junior campaign, Terry recorded 103 total tackles and 19 sacks.

Terry was a four-star recruit by ESPN and a three-star recruit by Scout, 247Sports and Rivals. He was the No. 3 overall recruit in Oklahoma by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN.
