July 29 is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be able to vote in the August 23 federal, state and county runoff elections, the City of Tulsa general election, the City of Tulsa Charter change propositions and the sale tax vote in Skiatook, according to Tulsa County Election Board Secretary Gwen Freeman.
Any U.S. citizen who is a resident of Oklahoma and at lease 17 1/2 years old may register to vote. (You have to be 18 to actually vote).
Applications must be postmarked no later than midnight, July 29. Applications that arrive later will be accepted but not processed until after August 23. Some motor vehicle agencies are official voter registration and may take the applications before the deadline.
Registered voters who have moved to Tulsa County from another county or state must complete a new voter registration application. If a voter has moved within the county and need to update your address, changes can be made at the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/org or complete a voter registration application, which can be downloaded from oklahoma.gov/elections.
The Tulsa County Election Board is at 555 N. Denver Ave. and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call 918-596-5780 or visit www.tulsacounty.org.
