California lawmakers approved a $215 billion state budget for California. Included in that budget is healthcare for illegal aliens up to the age of 26. Their healthcare will be provided through Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program which currently provides coverage for 13 million people (1/3 of California’s total population).
Illegal aliens up to the age of 18 are already covered by Medi-Cal, but increasing the age to 26 is expected to add 90,000 more people. However, California lawmakers have even bigger plans to entice illegal aliens to their state — they’re now working to expand Medi-Cal coverage to all illegal aliens, regardless of age.
This bold plan is estimated to cost California taxpayers $3 billion, so, lawmakers are looking for ways to help offset the cost. One of their plans is to penalize anyone who refuses to purchase healthcare insurance. The penalty would be a fine of $695, or 2 percent of your household income, whichever is higher.
Reportedly, about half of California’s doctors are refusing to accept new Medi-Cal patients because Medi-Cal pays about 50 percent less than Medicare, and Medicare pays about 40 percent less than private insurance.
But that doesn’t seem to be a concern for California lawmakers . . . even though Medi-Cal patients, both legal citizens and illegal aliens, are finding it harder and harder to get a doctor’s appointment in California.
But wait, there’s more. California has long wanted to take away the right for law-abiding citizens to own a firearm, and although they cannot yet confiscate your guns, they’ve now found a way to make it more difficult, and costly, for law-abiding citizens to use their firearms.
On July 1, 2019, a new law will take effect in California, mandating that anyone purchasing ammunition must show a government-issued ID and undergo a state “background check.” This not only makes it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to purchase ammunition . . . it will also double the cost.
According to a study done by Beth Baumann of Town Hall, a 35-cent bullet will now cost you at least 68 cents because of these newly required background checks on ammunition.
What are these Democrat lawmakers thinking? They are making California a haven for illegal aliens, and at the same time, ignoring their own legal citizens. Thousands of unemployed homeless citizens are living on the streets in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other smaller cities. Some are mentally unstable, but most (60-80 percent) are addicted to drugs or alcohol, and many are openly observed injecting themselves with drugs, hallucinating, and defecating on public sidewalks.
Is this California’s vision of a democratic/socialist/progressive utopia?
It has been said by some: “Keep your eyes on California. As goes California, so goes the nation.” Let us pray that American citizens will quickly wake up, come to their senses, get right with God, and put a stop to this political lunacy.
