Kansas basketball coach Bill Self will the speaker at the Steve Davis Champions’ luncheon October 2 at the Main Ballroom of the Downtown DoubleTree Hotel, 616 W. 7th St.

The luncheon series, named for the late Oklahoma quarterback Steve Davis, is presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Northeast Oklahoma. Davis launched the series in 2013 but he died in a tragic airplane crash just two weeks after the initial event.

The lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.

During his 16 seasons as head coach, he’s led KU to at least a share of an NCAA record 14 straight regular season Big 12 championships (2005–2018), three NCAA Final Four appearances and the  2008 NCAA championship. Self, as of the end of the 2018-19 season, has the 23rd most wins among Division I coaches in NCAA History and 8th among active head coaches.

Table sponsors are available for this event for $1,000 per table or a Coaches Table for $500 for area coaches and athletes to attend. Individual tickets are $100 per person.
