When you talk about the impact of the progressive media, it’s not just newspapers and TV stations. The arts are having a chilling effect on the culture in Tulsa.

Here’s an example.

Celebrity Attractions, a Tulsa company, is bringing in a package of five Broadway musicals in 2021-22. The highlight would seem to be Oklahoma!

That’s great. Everyone in Oklahoma should be proud of that musical and the positive message and entertainment value of that production. The original Broadway show was a sweet love story set in the era of the start of statehood in Oklahoma.

Here are  other four musicals:

Mean Girls

Produced by Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live), this is the story of some women in suburban Illinois and how they fight like cats and dog.

Tootsie

This is the story of an out-of-work male actor who dresses as a woman to win a part on a TV soap opera.

Pretty Woman The Musical

This is from the movie Pretty Woman in which a prostitute seduces a billionaire businessman and they fall in love.

Hadestown

This is a musical about the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in which Orpheus goes to the underworld (Hell) to rescue Eurydice.

And the promo for Oklahoma! says it is “as you’ve never seen or heard it before – reimagined for the 21st Century.” It’s call “funny and sexy, provocative and probing.”

This is America and Celebrity Attractions, which was founded by a devoted Christian, can present whatever they want. With progressive sponsors like KOTV and the Tulsa World, this is predictable.

But these are well-performed productions with trashy messages that appeal to the lower instincts of people.
