The lunacy of the left was in full display once again July 31 and August 1 when all twenty of the Democratic presidential candidates participated in their second debate. Every Democrat presidential candidate told us “climate change” is the biggest threat to this nation.  Some even claim this planet will be destroyed in ten to twelve years, unless we do something right now to save it.

Almost all of them are saying we must eliminate the use of fossil fuels by 2029.  And yet they express no concern, that If that were to happen, all of the vehicles we are driving today will be inoperable in ten years . . . Because there will be no gasoline.  That includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, buses, trains, airplanes, boats, farm tractors, lawnmowers, etc.  It sounds crazy doesn’t it?   But if they have their way, you and I will have no choice but to walk, ride a bike, buy a horse, or purchase a $40,000 electric car that can only travel 200 miles without recharging the battery overnight.

Former vice president Joe Biden has unveiled a $5 trillion climate change proposal that includes spending $750 Billion to build 500,000 more public charging stations nationwide.  Biden proposal doesn’t address what will happen to the 500,000 privately-owned gasoline stations he will put out of business.

Nor does Biden seem to be concerned that your family vacation by automobile will now be limited to 200 miles per day.  An automobile trip from Tulsa to Disney World in Orlando would take six days instead of two – and you could no longer fly.  Remember?  Airplanes require fossil fuels . . . and fossil fuels will no longer be allowed.

All of these candidates claim millions of new manufacturing jobs will be created in the United States, building new products related to the production of clean-green energy; i.e., wind turbines, solar panels, storage batteries, etc.  They claim these new jobs will come about as a result of the United States capturing the world market for all these products.

But how will the United States capture the world market if we’ve eliminated the use of fossil fuels, which is the cheapest source of energy worldwide?  Without fossil fuels, the United States will not be able to compete with China, India and others who continue to use fossil fuels, and have labor rates that are substantially lower than the United States.

In fact, China is building or planning more than 300 coal-fired power plants in places as widely spread as Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Egypt and the Philippines (see NPR report April 29, 2019).  So, it is foolish to believe we can save the planet by eliminating the use of fossil fuels in the USA, while the rest of the world keeps on doing what they are doing.

But perhaps their biggest display of hypocrisy is their “phony” concern for little children.  Every one of these presidential candidates has expressed outrage and condemnation of U.S. Border Patrol Agents for separating children from their parents . . . parents who have been arrested for illegally entering the United States.

Every candidate has made emotionally charged statements that these “precious little innocent children are being snatched right out of the arms of their mothers” by border law-enforcement personnel – and some have even made the false claim that these children are locked in cages, forced to sleep on the floor, and drink water from toilets.  But truth be known, these are the best living conditions these kids have ever experienced in their lifetime.

But the most shameful thing in all is this:  Every one of these Democrat presidential candidates has pledged to protect Roe v. Wade – and publicly expressed their full support in protecting a woman’s right to abort her unborn baby, at any time during her pregnancy, for any reason, and be paid for by U.S. taxpayers.

Hopefully, the American people will recognize this shameful charade for what it is, pray for God’s guidance, and then do the right thing in November 2020.
