The Seaboard Foods meat processing plant in Guymon, Oklahoma, has reported more than 116 coronavirus infections to the Oklahoma State Health Department.
According to its website, the company said it has taken preventative steps, including:
- Prescreening workers
- Monitoring for flu-like symptoms
- Requiring all employees to wear face masks
- Social distancing within the plant
- An increase in janitorial staff and more disinfection, including an anti-viral fog in employee common areas.
Seaboard Foods processes more than 4.2 million pounds of pork products daily and has more than 2,700 workers in Texas County.
All of their plants are open and operating at full capacity, according to Seaboard Foods President and CEO Duke Sand. They also have a plant in Hennessey, Oklahoma.
