Last week, more than $515,000 was raised to benefit the family of slain Tulsa Police Officer Craig Johnson and also Officer Aurash Zarkeshan and his family.

Johnson died after receiving gunshot wounds during a traffic stop on June 29. Zarkeshan was also but he is still recovering in the hospital.

Many Tulsans turned out Thursday at Victory Christian Center at 81st Street and Lewis Avenue for Johnson’s funeral.

Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin took part in a fundraiser on July 8 at LaFortune Park that was organized by the Tulsa Police Department Foundation and Cox Media Group, including KRMG.

All the proceeds money will go to the Johnson-Zarkeshan Family Fund.

Tulsans can help the families by dropping off a donation at one of the three patrol divisions:

  • Mingo Valley Division, 10122 E. 11th St.
  • Gilcrease Division, 3436 N. Delaware Ave.
  • Riverside Division, 7515 Riverside Parkway.
