House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who hates President Donald Trump, needs to be held accountable for her childish actions during the State of the Union address on February 4.

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida has filed an ethics complaint against Pelosi alleging that Pelosi broke House rules and perhaps even some federal statutes by tearing up a copy of Trump’s speech at the end of his presentation.

Gaetz sent a letter to the House Committee on Ethics demanding an investigation. And he asked that committee to make referrals to the Department of Justice for more investigation and possible prosecution.

Gaetz said, “Speaker Pelosi’s gesture was deeply offensive and appears to violate clauses 1 and 2 of House Rule XXIII,” which spell out the House’s official code of conduct. “Her behavior does not ‘reflect creditably on the House,’ nor does it follow ‘the spirit and the letter of the Rules of the House.’”

U.S. Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Oklahoma, wants Pelosi to be censured for her behavior.

“She takes every opportunity to make petty displays of her hatred of our President, most recently by ripping up his speech following his State of the Union address,” Hern said.

Don’t expect any corrective action to be taken against Pelosi in the House, which is controlled by leftist Democrats.

What she did was wrong. She will pay a price in public opinion for her demeaning her office as Speaker.

The best way to stop Pelosi’s antics is for the Republicans to regain control of the House of Representatives by electing more Republicans in November. Oklahomans can help that effort by defeating U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn, D-Oklahoma – the only Oklahoman to vote for impeachment.
