Congratulations to the ORU men’s golf team and the Tulsa women’s golf team, who are headed to their respective NCAA Tournaments.

The ORU men’s golf team captured the 2025 Summit League Championship last week at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. ORU will now compete in the Bremerton Regional of the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships, hosted at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Washington, May 12-14.

The Golden Eagles finished four strokes ahead of North Dakota State to win the eighth Summit League title in program history, and their first since 2010.

ORU is the No. 13 seed in the 14-team field, of a regional headlined by top-seeded Arizona State, along with Florida, Utah, South Carolina, and others. The top five teams and the lowest-scoring individual, not on one of those teams, will advance to the national championship, scheduled for May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, with Texas serving as the host institution.

Leading the way for ORU was junior Kevin An, who clinched the individual title in a three-man playoff after carding rounds of 70-67-69 (-7). He won the first playoff hole to secure ORU’s first individual Summit League champion since 2021. Christian Johnson and Philip Voetmann also delivered clutch final rounds in the 60s, finishing T6 and T11, respectively.

The defending men’s champion is Auburn, which claimed its first-ever NCAA DI men’s golf title in 2024 with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Florida State in the championship match.

TULSA WOMEN IN TOURNAMENT

It will be the Tulsa women’s golf team’s 21st regional appearance in program history, as the Golden Hurricane began play in the NCAA Norman Regional on Monday. The Golden Hurricane earned an automatic berth into the field by winning the American Athletic Conference Championship.

After the 54-holes, the top five teams in each region will advance to the NCAA Championship, which will take place in Carlsbad, California on May 16.

The Golden Hurricane came into the NCAA Norman Regional after winning the American Conference Championship by 21 strokes. TU has been playing its best golf at the end of the season, with three top five finishes over its last three events. It was Tulsa’s first conference title since 2021.

Romaine Masserey became the first player in TU history to win the AAC individual championship. The Golden Hurricane placed four golfers in the top 10 at the AAC Championship.
