After a narrow 13-24 loss to No. 18 Cincinnati in Ohio Saturday, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-5, 0-3 in the American Athletic Conference) return home Saturday to host Memphis (6-1, 2-1 in the AAC).

TU is looking for their first conference win this season against Memphis, whose only stumble this year was a two-point defeat by Tulane.

Tulsa lost to  Cincinnati 13-24 after the Hurricane committed five turnovers.

“We’re right on the verge, but it is not good enough,” Tulsa coach Philip Montgomery said. “We have to take care of the ball.”

Trailing 17-13, Tulsa took possession with 4:11 left needing to go 90 yards for the lead, but a Cincinnati interception ended Tulsa’s hope for the come-from behind victory.

Tulsa had a 377 to 317-yard edge in total offense, including passing for 243 yards and rushing for another 134 yards. Zach Smith threw for 243 yards, while Keylon Stokes caught 8 passes for a game-high 99 yards. Shamari Brooks totaled 68 yards and Corey Taylor II had 56 yards on the ground for Tulsa.

The kickoff Saturday is 6:02 p.m. and will be aired on CBS Sports Network.
