Here’s a bill that should pass the Legislature with a unanimous vote but it won’t because of liberal Democrats.

There is a movement in our nation for progressive parents with the assistance of unethical psychiatrists to encourage children to want sex-change operations. In their twisted view, if a little boy wants to play with dolls he probably should be a girl or if a girl likes guns, she should be a boy.

So they give their children drugs that halt their normal development during puberty and some even get their kids irreversible surgery to pretend that they have changed their sex.

State Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain, has filed Senate Bill 676 to prohibit anyone under the age of 21 from undergoing gender reassignment medical treatment in the state.

His bill would make it illegal for a parent or guardian of a child under the age of 18 to obtain gender reassignment medical treatment for the child; or for a health care professional to intentionally perform gender reassignment medical treatment on a person who is under the age of 21.

“Gender reassignment” is defined as changing a child from what is recorded on their birth certificate.

This is America. If an adult is so foolish as to think they can change their sex with surgery, they have the option to do that.

But the American legal system has always protected our children. Children are not capable of understanding the tragedy of taking these drugs and this surgery can have on them as adults.

This goes against science, traditional values and Christian ethics.

Hopefully this bill will pass and the governor will sign it into law.
