TU/UC  postponed

Last Saturday’s Tulsa University football game against Cincinnati was postponed, due to COVID-19 cases at Cincinnati and the ensuing quarantine of student-athletes. It was to be the first home game of the season for the Golden Hurricane, and appropriately the school was scheduled to celebrate homecoming. That will now have to wait a couple weeks.

“I’m disappointed, first, for our football student-athletes and coaches, and obviously for our staff who has prepared so diligently, our campus and the City of Tulsa,” said Tulsa’s Director of Athletics Rick Dickson. “This TU Homecoming game was a great opportunity to showcase our football program, the community and the American Athletic Conference against the nation’s No. 8 team. As the university, the conference and the NCAA have said throughout this pandemic, the health and safety of our student-athletes are at the forefront of all decisions.”

That game has been rescheduled for Sat., Dec. 5 at H.A. Chapman Stadium. Tickets and parking purchased for the original Oct.17 date will remain valid for the rescheduled game, and ticket holders do not need to take further action.

In the meantime, Tulsa will visit University of South Florida this Friday, Oct. 23, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Tulsa will now open the home season on Friday, Oct. 30, against the East Carolina Pirates. Tickets for the ECU home game will go on sale to the general public on Friday, at 8:30 a.m. online at Tulsahurricane.com/tickets.
