The ORU Golden Eagles lost two out of three games to Omaha over the weekend, but it was the 4-3 win in game one on Saturday that helped ORU clinch the Summit League regular season title. Friday night’s game was postponed because of lightning and severe weather, and the two teams played a double header on Saturday.
By winning the regular season, ORU will now host the Summit League baseball tournament in May 2027.
Omaha won game two on Saturday, 7-5, and got past ORU on Sunday, 8-6.
ORU’s record is now 30-20 and 20-5 in the Summit League. With the two wins, Omaha improved to 11-17, 7-5 in Summit League play.
The Golden Eagles will wrap up the Summit League regular season with three games at Northern Colorado, beginning Thursday at 3:00 p.m., Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Summit League tournament will be played in St. Paul, Minn., beginning May 20.
