Idaho State outrebounded Oral Roberts 54-19 and applied tight defensive pressure to defeat the Golden Eagles, 71-55 on Saturday in Pocatello, Idaho. It was ORU’s second and final game of the Big Sky/Summit League Challenge.
ORU dropped to 3-7 on the year while ISU improved to 4-5.
ISU grabbed 17 of its 54 rebounds on the offensive boards creating several second-chance opportunities. Idaho State won the points in the paint battle 42-12 and outscored ORU 12-0 in second-chance points.
The Golden Eagles shooting went cold late in the first half and the Bengals led 32-28 at halftime.
ORU was led by Issac McBride with 17 points while Carlos Rosario and Sam Alajiki each added 10.
Jake O’Neil and Isaiah Griffin led the Bengals with 14 points each, Dylan Darling added 12 points for ISU.
ORU forced 12 ISU turnovers and had just nine of its own.
The Golden Eagles will play at Texas Tech on Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
