Oral Roberts closed a four-game series against North Dakota State with an 11-3 loss Sunday.

ORU starter Jackson Farrell (1-2) had a rough outing and was charged with the loss after 3 innings on the mound, allowing seven runs, all earned, on four hits while striking out four batters.

The Bison struck first with a two-run home run in the second inning. NDSU added five runs in the fourth inning behind a two-RBI single and a three-run home run to left.

Makani Tanaka put ORU on the board in the fifth, singling to left field to score Matthew Mainord, who had reached on a walk and advanced to second on a single by Will Edmunson.

NDSU added another home run in the eighth before scoring three runs in the ninth.

Trailing 11-1 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, ORU attempted a late comeback with two runs in the ninth, as Edmunson drove in Mainord, who again drew a walk and advanced to second on an Ellis walk. Following a pitching change, Tanaka doubled to right-center to score Ellis.

NDSU starter Jonah Walker earned the win pitching five innings, striking out two, walking three, and allowing one run on five hits.

ORU and NDSU played two games on Friday. The first game was a makeup of a game that was postponed due to inclement weather when the Golden Eagles played at NDSU in March. The two teams split the doubleheader, with NDSU winning the first game 3-2. ORU’s starting pitcher, Easton Teel, struck out 14 batters in the game but took the loss. ORU won the nightcap, 14-3 in seven innings.

On Saturday, ORU won 3-2, with a game winning homer from Ethan Fender in the bottom of the eighth inning.
