Oklahoma State shot 53 percent from the field and made 22-of-25 free throws to defeat Ole Miss 82-60 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowboys record improved to 12-9 overall ,3-5 Big 12. The Rebels are now 9-12, 1-7 SEC.

Kalib Boone paced the Cowboys on the offensive end for the second-straight game, scoring 18 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field. Boone scored in double-figures for the 12th time this season.

OSU went into the halftime break up 11, led by Woody Newton’s 12 first-half points, which tied a career-high.

The Cowboys defense swarmed the Rebels all night, holding them to 36 percent from the field and 26 percent from three, while blocking five shots and forcing eight turnovers.

OSU now holds a 7-3 record in the Big 12/SEC Challenge and is 5-0 at home.

Saturday’s victory brings head coach Mike Boynton’s career total to 99, one win shy of becoming the fifth head coach in OSU history to reach the 100-win milestone.
