Game 1: The No. 5 seed Oklahoma State softball team dropped its WCWS opener to fourth-seeded Florida, 1-0, Thursday at OGE Field at Devon Park.
The game was a classic pitching duel. OSU All-American Lexi Kilfoyl (26-4) took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before the Gators’ Katie Kistler hit a leadoff home run to score the game’s only run. Kilfoyl allowed only two hits in losing the hard-fought battle.
Florida’s Keagan Rothrock (31-7) yielded only two OSU singles and tossed a complete game to lift the Gators.
Game 2: The No. 5 seed Oklahoma State softball team saw its season end after falling to eighth-seeded Stanford, 8-0, in six innings on Friday.
The Cowgirls’ (49-12) 49 wins on the year was the third-most in program history.
