Oklahoma State junior kicker Alex Hale is one of 30 players on the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Preseason Watch List, as announced by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.
Hale is one of three place-kickers from the Big 12 who was included on the list for the award, which is annually awarded to the nation’s top place-kicker.
A 2020 Lou Groza Award semifinalist, Hale was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection despite missing the final five games of the season due to injury. At the time of his injury, Hale was the FBS leader with 2.17 made field goals per game. As a sophomore, Hale was 13 of 14 on field goal attempts, converting at a 92.9% rate. He is one of 16 FBS place-kickers on the watch list who attempted at least 10 field goals and connected at 85% or better last season.
