Colorado jumped out to an early lead and held off Oklahoma State in the second half to take an 83-69 win over the Cowboys on Saturday in Boulder. It was the Buffaloes third straight home win, and the Cowboys have now lost five in a row.
Colorado improved to 15-12, 5-9 Big 12, and OSU dropped to 16-11, 4-10 Big 12.
There was a stretch of over five minutes in the first half that OSU didn’t score. During that time, Colorado made five 3-pointers to take a 25-8 lead.
OSU battled back with scoring runs of 9-0 and 6-0 to pull within eight points by halftime, as the Buffaloes led 42-34.
The Cowboys continued their comeback in the second half as Christian Coleman and Isaiah Coleman combined for an 8-0 run bringing the Cowboys within a point, 45-44, early in the second half. Four minutes into the second half, OSU took a 48-47 lead, but that was their largest of the game.
A few minutes later, Colorado mounted a 15-4 run to jump back out, 68-57.
OSU’s shooting went cold in the final minutes of the game and missed their last 10 shots.
Colorado was led by Bangot Dak with 17 points, Barrington Hargress added 16, and Alon Michaeli had 12 points off the bench.
The Cowboys were led by Parsa Fallah who scored 14 points and Christian Coleman and Vyctorius Miller added 11 points each.
