It took 10 innings for OSU to win game one of the series, 4-2, on Friday, as the Cowboys broke a 2-2 tie, with two runs in the top of the 10th inning. Pitching a complete game is rare at any level of baseball and certainly so in college, but Harrison Bodendorf was brilliant in his complete game performance. The southpaw pitched all 10 innings for the Cowboys, allowing just one earned run and three hits while striking out 10; he threw 125 pitches. Bodendorf’s record improved to 7-1.

On Saturday, the Wildcats bounced back to beat OSU, 5-1. Nolan Schubart went 3-for-4 and drove in the Cowboys’ only run, while Kollin Ritchie contributed two hits in the game.

Oklahoma State came up short the series finale on Sunday, dropping the rubber game to No. 20 Arizona, 5-4, on Maddox Mihalakis’ walk-off single with two outs in the ninth inning.

With the loss, the Cowboys fell to 16-17 overall and 5-8 in Big 12 play, while Arizona is now 25-10 and 10-5 in the league.

OSU’s Brayden Smith had two hits and extended his hitting streak to 19 games, the longest by a Cowboy since 2021, while Jayson Jones also had a pair of hits.

Reliever Noah Wech took the loss (0-4). He worked 1 1/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk.

For Arizona, Hunter Watkins turned in a quality start, pitching 6 1/3 innings and allowed just two runs on six hits while striking out four.

With the game tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth and Wildcat runners on first and second, Wech got Adonys Guzman to ground into a double play. Then Mihalakis singled to center field to drive in the winning run.

The Cowboys host Houston in a three-game series beginning Friday evening.
