University of Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione announced that Marcus Bowman will join OU as senior associate athletics director and chief financial officer for athletics.

Bowman comes to Norman after spending the last two-and-a-half years at UNLV as senior associate athletics director and CFO. He also served as the sport administrator for the Rebels’ men’s basketball and men’s soccer programs.

Bowman was involved in all facets of strategic and operational planning and collaborated with the director of athletics on a variety of projects.

Prior to his stint at UNLV, Bowman served as senior associate athletics director for sport administration at The University of Pittsburgh. He started his career at Pitt in 2006 as director of business operations and several promotions followed. He also held the titles of interim director of ticket operations, assistant athletics director for administration and planning, and senior associate athletics director/chief of staff.

Bowman earned his bachelor’s degree from Pitt in 2006 in business administration with an emphasis in finance and a concentration in communication. He earned his master’s degree from Pitt in 2010 in business administration.

Bowman was on Pitt’s men’s basketball team for four years (2002-03 through 2005-06), earning a full academic scholarship to the university.

Bowman’s hire is pending OU Board of Regents approval.
