Oklahoma was led by Tanner Groves with 23 points, as the Sooners beat No. 22 TCU, 74-60 Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams. Groves also pulled down 10 rebounds in the game.

Oklahoma improved its record to 15-16, 5-13 Big 12, and finished in last place in the Big 12 Conference.

Grant Sherfield added 20 points and Milos Uzan had 12.

Mike Miles Jr. led TCU (20-11, 9-9) with 17 points. Damion Baugh had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Horned Frogs. TCU finished tied for fifth in the Big 12 with Iowa State.

A red-hot start for OU and a poor shooting performance by TCU, put the Sooners up by 17 points at the end of the first half, 38-21.

For the game, Oklahoma shot 50 percent (25 of 50) from the field while TCU finished at 37.7 percent (23 of 61).

The Sooners have made either the NCAA or NIT tournament in 35 of the past 40 seasons. While Saturday’s win helps, they will need an exceptional finish in the Big 12 tourney to make either the NCAA or NIT fields this season.

OU opened play Wednesday night in the Big 12 tournament, against Oklahoma State, at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
