The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has announced OU’s opponents for the 2024 year. On July 1, 2024 both OU and Texas will leave the Big 12 Conference and join the SEC.

The first year of play will feature both Texas and Oklahoma playing eight teams from the SEC, with neither one playing the same teams, except for the OU-Texas game.

Oklahoma will play Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee at home.  As well as being considered the home team for the OU-Texas game at a neutral site.

The Sooners lead Alabama overall 3-2-1; winning the two regular season  games they have played.

The Sooners have never played the South Carolina gamecocks.

Oklahoma has a record of 3-1 against Tennessee, winning the last three times they have met.  Former Sooner quarterback, Josh Heupel is now the Volunteer’s head coach.

The Sooners will carry on with tradition and play Texas in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl, in Dallas. OU has a losing record against Texas, 63-50-5, with OU winning 10 of the last 14 games.

The away SEC games will be against Auburn, LSU, Missouri and Ole Miss.

The Sooners lead their series with Auburn 2-0 with both games being held in the Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma has lost two out of the three matches against LSU, all in post-season play.

This will be the first game against Missouri that OU has played since the Tigers left for the SEC.  OU leads  the series 38-28, with a record of 32-4 since 1970.

The only game with Ole Miss that OU has played was in 1999 at the Independence Bowl which they lost in a tight one 27-25 on a last minute field goal.
