Russia has invaded Ukraine and provoked an international crisis that threatens all of Europe.

Russia’s Vladimir Putin broadcast a flimsy excuse about the invasion but his ultimate goal is to reunite the Soviet Union under his dictatorship.

Putin also wants a pledge from NATO that Ukraine will never get an invitation to join. He wants to annex Ukraine.

In 2014, when Obama was commander in chief, Putin invaded and annexed the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. Obama took no serious action to deter Putin’s actions.

Under President Donald Trump, Putin was frankly scared of Trump and didn’t try any military annexations. Under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Putin sees no obstacles because of Biden’s weakness.

Biden has pledged that no U.S. troops will not fight in Ukraine. He and Congress have sent millions of dollars to Ukraine for military equipment but that won’t come close to stopping Russia.

Biden is right about one thing – preserving the government of Ukraine – which by the way is not a democracy – is not worth the life of one American. It is not worth billions of dollars that America wasted in Afghanistan and it most definitely is not worth provoking a war between America and Russia.

The European nations of NATO need to solve this problem. There is no direct American interest in a fight between Russia and Ukraine. If Putin understood that Europe would defend Ukraine, he would have had second thoughts.

And Biden’s obvious weakness will encourage China to take over Taiwan and other dictatorships will  not fear to take such actions.

Democrats want to save Ukraine for the sake of “democracy” when that it not the issue.

This is a problem that should have been solved before the Russian tanks went in.
