What is racism?
The dialogue in the United States is so low now that the accusation of racism is tossed about incessantly.
A conservative is instantly called a racist if he or she disagrees with progressive ideology. The issue is may not have anything to do with race but liberals wield it like a sword to belittle political opponents and to try to shut them up.
When Barack Obama was president, any criticism of his policies was labeled racism. The progressive argument was that if you disagreed with the first black president, it must be because you don’t like the color of his skin.
A wise man said there is only one race – the human race. Minorities, black people in particular, have historically been mistreated in white cultures. Some of that bigotry persists today but any honest historian would have to record that America has learned from its mistakes and is working toward equal treatment for all its citizens.
One true example of racism is in the pro-choice movement. Liberals push for federal funding of abortion without pointing out that minority women have a greater percentage of abortions than others.
Calling everyone who disagrees with you a racist doesn’t help the country.
