The push to make medical marijuana legal in Oklahoma was not about helping people in pain as it was about making recreational marijuana 100% legal.

The fact that more than 400,000 Oklahomans have medical marijuana licenses is proof of that.

Now, since marijuana advocates were so successful in passing “medical” marijuana, they want to go the full route and make it legal for anyone to smoke or grow marijuana.

Oklahomans for Sensible Marijuana Laws have submitted a petition to fully legalize marijuana  with over 164,000 signatures to the Office of the Secretary of State at the Oklahoma State Capitol on July 5.

If it is placed on the ballot for November 8, State Question 820 will legalize, regulate, and tax recreational marijuana for adults 21+ in Oklahoma.

Sadly, if it makes it to the ballot, odds are it will pass. Hundreds of thousands of dollars – perhaps even millions – will be spent to promote this vote. TV stations, some radio stations and big newspapers will eager accept advertising for Vote Yes and they will promote the vote in their “news programs” or news columns.

If it passes, Oklahoma will cement its newfound reputation as the “Marijuana Capital of the United States.”

This is so dangerous for Oklahoma and its people, especially children. Oklahoma legalized gambling and now we have more than 120 casinos. Oklahoma legalized “medical marijuana” and they are dispensaries on every major intersection.

People of good faith need to pray for this initiative to fail.
