Every four years we have a presidential election. We have a Republican President Trump, therefore it is a year to start riots.

We need to look at the history of riots and how they started.

This year, a police officer in Minnesota mistreated a black man he had arrested. This officer is now under arrest and riots or “demonstrations” are underway. This includes Tulsa. Tulsa has already been “celebrating” the 1921 riot here.

The riot that consumed Greenwood is noted. It is something we all need remember – with great regret – but to celebrate it makes Tulsa look very bad.

For my part, I worked in cities/nations after riots, death camps, looting, burning and other such events. This included Germany; Lawrence, Kansas; and Watts in Los Angeles.

In all cases, people felt very bad – but none celebrated like Tulsa seem have done after 1921. It looks like the “celebration” has brought new riots. One event dealt with a man driving a pickup with a horse trailer. People beating on the windows and hood. He probably was concerned that these vandals might open the horse trailer and let the animal out. That could have meant more vehicle crashes and the death of the animal and people. It would not have been good.

The Mayor’s Office and the Tulsa World need to consider if they want travelers stay away from Downtown and go around it if possible when traveling in this part of the state.
