The filing period for Board of Education members and some municipal seats was in early December 2024.  The primary elections will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, with the general election on April 1. All of the scheduled elections are non-partisan.

There were 22 offices to be determined, but only five offices drew more than one candidate and one office drew no candidates.

There were 18 school board positions and four municipal seats up for grabs.

The one election that drew no candidates was the Collinsville  School Board.  If no candidate files the School Board can appoint a person living in that district for the normal term.

Of the 18 remaining school board seats 14 drew no opponents and will serve as board members. Four seats drew more than one candidate.

In Berryhill Public Schools  Office No. 5 Dusty Hutchinson will replace incumbent Patty Lawson who chose not to file.

Bixby saw Pablo Aguirre file for incumbent Tristy Fryer’s Office No. 5 seat and win without opposition.

Glenpool School Board Office No. 2 incumbent by appointment Michael Rhine won re-election by being unopposed.  Glenpool Board Member Office No. 5 Amber Lieser also won her re-election with no one filing against her.

Jenks Public Schools Office No. 5 saw incumbent Chuck Forbes win re-election by virtue of being unopposed.

The incumbent School Board President for Keystone, Clay Biggerstaff was also unopposed.

Incumbent Brent W. Hickerson won the Liberty Public Schools Office No. 5.

Owasso Public School Board president Frosty Turpen won re-election without opposition (Office No. 5).

In Sand Springs School Board Office No. 5 member Jackie Wagnon did not file and Alesha Spoon won the election.

Incumbent Aleen Joy McLain won re-election to the Skiatook Public School Board for Office No. 5.

Sperry Public Schools incumbent for Office No. 5 Johnny Holmes filed and won his re-election unopposed.

Tulsa Tech board member Phil Armstong was appointed to replace Roy Owens when he resigned in the fall and won election by being unopposed.

Finally, Union Public Schools Board member Steve Nguyen won re-election by filing.

There were 4 school board seats that are contested.

In Tulsa Public Schools Office No. 2  Calvin Michael Moniz who won a special election last year drew one opponent – Khadija Goz. They will not meet in the primary election since there are only two candidates, but will face off in the April 1 election.

The other Tulsa Public Schools school board Office no. 3 is an open seat with incumbent Jennettie Marshall not filing for re-election.  There are four candidates running:  Kyra Carby, 39 of Tulsa; Brandi Joseph, 49 of Tulsa; Eartha Mc-Alester, 46 of Tulsa; and dorie Simmons, 50 of Tulsa.

Tulsa Tech’s Office no. 2 will  see Incumbent Rick Kibbe, 66 of Catoosa and Todd Blackburn of Tulsa face off in the April 1 general election as a primary election is not needed.

Finally the Broken Arrow School Board Office No. 5 will see Incumbent Jerry Denton, 59 face off with challengers Bruce Allen Lamont, 48 and Kate Williams, 40, all of Broken Arrow.

There are four municipal offices open for election.  Three have been decided by only one person filing and one has two filers.

In Owasso there are two wards, Ward 1 has been decided since Incumbent Cody Walter was the lone filer, and Ward 5 drew 2 filers: Incumbent Doug Bonebrake did not file, but Chad Balthrop 52, Owasso Chamber of Commerce chairman filed as well as Brandon Shreffler, 43, a navy veteran.  They will meet in the April 1 election without a primary election.

The City of Sand Springs also has two seats available, but both incumbents won re-election by virtue of no opposition.  Incumbent for Ward 1 Cody Worrell won, as well as the incumbent for Ward 2 Matthew Barnett.
