Jerry Griffin got 377 votes (37%) and incumbent Ruth Ann Fate got 335 votes (33%) February 11 to force a runoff vote in the race for Tulsa School Board, Office 6.
In TPS District 1 Office 5, John Croisant got 1,063 votes (44%) and Shane Saunders got 633 votes (26%) to force a runoff.
The runoff election will be April 7.
Fate, a long-time TPS board member, was just 24 votes away from missing the runoff. Fate was first election in 1996. Stephen Remington got 311 votes (30%).
Croisant and Saunders topped a field of five candidates for Office 5 – an open seat. Scott Pendleton got 400 votes (16%), Kelsey Royce got 313 votes (13%) and Ben Croff, who unofficially withdrew, got 17 votes.
Osage County GOP meets March 7
The Osage County Republican Party will hold precinct meetings and their convention on March 7 at the Inter Local Co-op, 207 East Main Street, Hominy.
Registration will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. followed by Precinct Meetings and the County Convention. All Republicans Registered to vote in Osage County are welcome. Party members are asked to bring their Voter ID Card and driver’s license. For more information, call 918-853-6371.
