Tulsa Public Schools became the first district to approve postponing the April 7 school board election until the danger of the COVID-19 pandemic has passed. The election for two board members has been moved to June 30, the same day as the state primary election.

The State Election Board Secretary made an election emergency declaration that lets entities to schedule the April 7 election even if they are required by statute to do so.

School elections in Tulsa, Collinsville, Union, Berryhill and Keystone have been rescheduled for June 30. A Jenks bond issue vote has been delayed to a later undetermined date. And absentee ballots issued for the April 7 election are now invalid and should be destroyed. The Tulsa County Election Board is closed to the public but business is still being conducted by phone, email and mail.
