QuikTrip is partnering with 918 Fully Involved to host Smoke & Guns on April 22nd at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The MMA-style fights and boxing matches will feature a firefighter sparring with a law enforcement officer, with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Oklahoma and Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp.

There are three members of the Tulsa Fire Department and two members of the Tulsa Police Department participating in this year’s event. Below is a short description of each fighter and what unique elements they bring to the ring:

Nolan Boyd, Tulsa Fire Department, is a distinguished wrestler who spent five years competing at Oklahoma State University and pulled in three straight Big 12 Championships from 2015-2017. Passionate about his faith and cultivating the next generation, Boyd is also a mentor in a ministry called Athletes in Action for college wrestlers.

Chase Bagley, Tulsa Fire Department, is among the oldest in this year’s fighter lineup at 39 years old. When he isn’t working his side hustles mowing lawns or installing Christmas lights, he’s either coaching Sandlot baseball or training to fight his next opponent.

Houston Nole, Tulsa Fire Department, spent eight years in the Air Force and began training in martial arts in 2019. Houston has been a part of TFD for five years and is the father of two boys.

John Espinoza, Tulsa Police Department, joined TPD in 2022 after completing three overseas tours with the Marines during his six years of service. Carrying a decade of marital arts training under his belt, John will be a key competitor in April.

Kevin Ishola, Tulsa Police Department, relocated his family from Newark, New Jersey to Tulsa to join the police department last year. Kevin is a former collegiate and semi-pro football player and is also a seven-year Army Veteran.
