No. 24 Oklahoma beat No. 17 Arkansas Sunday afternoon,15-10, to win the series finale and avoid getting swept by the Razorbacks.

Oklahoma is now 31-18, 13-14 SEC, while Arkansas stands at 34-18, 15-12 SEC.

The Sooners were powered by a season-high five home runs of the bats of Deiten Lachance, Brendan Brock, Jaxon Willits and a pair from Drew Dickerson.

OU took an early lead for the third straight game, going up 3-0 in the first inning when Lachance hit a three-run homer, his second in as many days and fourth in the last five games.

The Sooners built their lead to 5-0 after two and a half innings, but the Razorbacks responded in the home half of the third, scoring their first run via solo homer. Arkansas scored three in the fifth on a two-out home run to move within one run of OU.

Brock extended the Sooners’ lead back to three runs with his team-leading tenth homer of the season, a two-run blast in the top of the sixth.

Not to be outdone, Arkansas hit a pair of home runs in the bottom of the sixth and tied the score at 7-7.

The seventh inning was spectacular for Oklahoma as the Sooners scored seven runs on five hits, including a pair of home runs; Willits’ fifth of the season on a two-run shot, and Dickerson hit a grand slam.

Arkansas would get three more runs in the next couple of innings and OU add one more for the final score, 15-10.

On the mound, Nate Smithburg earned his first career victory, but OU utilized six pitchers in the game.

Arkansas won the first game of the series on Friday, 12-2, with a run-rule shortened game, and the Razorbacks won game two on Saturday, 12-8.

Oklahoma will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series against Tennessee beginning Thursday evening at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. Game times are 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
