The Oklahoma Republican Party Convention will be April 10 in Oklahoma City. You must register to attend.
At the convention, Republicans will elect new State officers including State Chairman and State Vice Chairman.
Outgoing State Chairman, David McLain and Vice Chairman, Shane Jemison, have chosen not to run again.
There are three candidates running for State Chairman:
John Bennet served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives for the 2nd district from 2011 – 2019. Bennett’s professional experience includes working for the Sheriff’s Department as a part of the drug task force, as the local VA as an advocate for injured veterans and as the owner of a storm shelter business with his wife.
Bennett served in the U.S. Marine Corps and remained on active duty for 14 years.
He did tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Christine Hirst-Leeveraphan is owner of Two Moms and a Mop, which is a Housekeeping and Home Care Service Company that cleans residential and commercial facilities.
She is also the Rogers County GOP Chair and is head of evangelism at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
She studied Public Relations at Oklahoma State University.
Charles Ortega served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives for the 52nd district from 2008 – 2020.
While in office, Ortega served on numerous committees including: Appropriations and Budget, Business, labor and Retirements Laws, Energy and natural Resources, Joint Appropriations and Budge, and Tourism and International Relations.
