The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association board of directors rejected the organization’s proposed guidelines for COVID-19 by a vote of 7-6.

Because the proposal failed, high school sports activities were able to resume immediately as the sports world re-opens from the coronavirus situation.

The rejected plan would have banned offseason activities before June 1 and would have added stipulations for dealing with the coronavirus.

Under that plan, there could be no team practices before June 28 but one-on-one instruction and weight training were allows. It would have mandated that everyone get their temperature checked and that all equipment would be sanitized after each use.

Details are being worked out by individual school districts.
