A sportswriter at a liberal local newspaper lamented the fact that Gov. Kevin Stitt signed the Save Women’s Sports bill that prevent biological males who masquerade as females from competing in women’s sports.
He couldn’t make a rational argument over the patent unfairness of men competing against girls so he tried to rationalize that this is such a minimal problem that it doesn’t merit a solution. But these kind of cultural perversions grow if they are left to fester.
Historically, public schools have separated boys’ teams from girls’ team. Here is the reality. Most boys are generally bigger, stronger and even faster than most girls. In all fairness, boys should compete against boys and girls against girls. Putting a strapping young boy on a girls’ swimming team creates a huge mismatch.
If a boy wants to pretend to be a girl, he has that freedom. But he should be on the boys’ team, not the girls’ team.
The sportswriter drags out the old argument that boys and girls who are confused about their sexual identities are more prone to depression and suicide. That is true but society is really helping them by agreeing with that confusion and even facilitating unnecessary surgery and hormone replacement?
It is not unusual for a young boy to pick up a doll but that doesn’t mean he should try to become a girl. And a girl who plays with toy guns will still be a girl even if she is told she can transform into a boy.
This is a problem in America. Thank God Gov. Stitt and the Legislature have addressed this early before it gets worse.
