OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor-Elect Kevin Stitt paid a visit to the Oklahoma Army National Guard’s Regional Training Institute (RTI) on December 13. More than 50 Oklahoma Army National guardsmen were in the second day of a two-day training seminar at the RTI when Stitt stopped by to offer a few comments.

During his comments, Stitt thanked the assembled guardsmen for their service to state and nation and promised his support to the Oklahoma National Guard will be unwavering.

Among those in attendance were Maj. Gen. Michael Thompson, the adjutant general for Oklahoma and serves as a member the Governor’s Cabinet; Brig. Gen. Jon Harrison, director of the Joint Staff for the Oklahoma National Guard; and Brig. Gen. Louis Wilham, assistant adjutant general (Army) for the Oklahoma National Guard.

“On behalf of every member of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard, we are all looking forward to working with you,” Thompson told Stitt. “We appreciate you taking time stop by and address our Guardsmen.” Once sworn into office, Stitt will be the commander-in-chief of the Oklahoma National Guard.
