I’ve been thinking about 2 Chronicles 7:14 for many months and about two problem areas for our country.  One, too many people dying every year before they should. Two, our country going broke spending more than we take in year after year.  I think its time for 2 Chronicles 7:14 – God’s advice to Solomon – for God to heal the land of calamities He has let loose on his people.

The first one: Every year we have too many unnecessary deaths. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco caused deaths.  Murder and killing from a myriad of violent crimes.  Motor vehicle accidents to suicide.  Medical disorders such as cancers, heart attacks and medical disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS and ALS.

In addition to these types of deaths, we have many not even being born, maybe as many as 60 million abortions since 1973.

On the financial side, we have robbed Social Security and Medicare almost to extinction for many who are now not yet retired.  The national debt is increasing at a rate that is not sustainable.  Insolvency would devastate many generations.

It is time for God’s people to respond according to His wisdom.  It is time to humble ourselves, pray, seek his face and change what he sees as wrong.

The Lord’s prayer says: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” We need his action to heal our nation. If you know who could lead such an endeavor, please ask them.

Until then, let’s start it in Tulsa and pray for it to spread across the country.

If not with us, by who should it begin?

If not now, when?

Let us obey and see God’s mighty power at work here and in our time.

May God bless America.
