In December on Fox News, Bret Baier did a short segment on “The Changing Demographics and The Declining Birth Rate in the United States.”
There were 3.9 million new births in the United States last year – the lowest number since 1987.
The federal government’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports the current birth rate at 1,765 births per 1,000 women is insufficient for a generation to be able to replicate itself. The CDC says the birth rate should be at least 2,100 births per 1,000 women.
In other words, the U.S. death rate will soon overtake the birth rate if we don’t correct this imbalance. And as expected, liberals are using this as a reason for open borders . . . we need more people.
However, Baier’s report did not say one word about the deleterious impact of abortion in this nation.
Nobody in the media (not even Fox News) and certainly no politician is willing to speak out against abortion – and sadly, very, very few church pastors and religious leaders are courageous enough to address the sin of taking the life of an innocent, defenseless baby while it sleeps peacefully in its mother’s womb.
As of December 27, there were 916,331 abortions in the United States in 2018. And yet, in the CDC’s listing of the top ten causes of death . . . abortion is nowhere to be found:
CDC Report: Number of Deaths for Leading Causes of Death
- Heart disease: 635,260
- Cancer: 598,038
- Accidents (unintentional injuries): 161,374
- Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 154,596
- Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 142,142
- Alzheimer’s disease: 116,103
- Diabetes: 80,058
- Influenza and pneumonia: 51,537
- Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 50,046
- Intentional self-harm (suicide): 44,965
What is it going to take for us to wake up and put a stop to the senseless killing of our next generation?
