Former New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind, a Jewish Democrat, was removed by police at an event at Rutgers University on February 9 because he dared to ask U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaig, D-Michigan, about her anti-Semitic rhetoric.

This event, “A Global Crisis: Refugees, Migrants and Asylum Seekers – Lessons from the Prophet Muhammed,” was not sponsored by Rutgers.

When it came time for questions, Hiklind asked Tlaig about the false claim during the Middle Ages that Jews used Christian blood to make matzah for Passover. He also referred to Tlaib re-tweeting an unsubstantiated claim that Israeli Jews murdered 8-year-old Palestinian Qais Abu Ramila, who was found dead after going missing in January. Authorities later confirmed the cause of death was an accidental drowning.

Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi later apologized for spreading the false narrative. That forced Tlaib to retweet Ashrawi’s apology. “I will also strive to hold myself to the highest standards for what I share,” Tlaib tweeted.

Tlaib refused to answer Hikind’s question. When he asked the question, several audience members immediately rushed over to him and the police followed.

“She didn’t offer any justification or apology for perpetuating a dangerous anti-Jewish blood libel even after I had been ejected, instead she played the victim as she does so expertly,” Hikind told Fox News.

This is the kind of suppression of freedom of speech and intolerance that Americans can expect from the “Squad” – four freshmen Democrats (including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Tlaib.)

They believe in freedom of speech – but only if you completely agree with their progressive dogma.

This is stifling political speech in America and it shows a disappointing lack of openness by elected officials.
