The Tulsa Beacon celebrates 25 years in publication with this issue. The first issue of the Tulsa Beacon was published on April 25, 2001 and this issue April 23, 2026 marks the end of its 25th year in publication. The first year of publication was marked by the September 11th attack on our nation by Islamic extremists. In contrast, this year the war on Iran began to stop the funding of Islamic terrorism.
Publisher Susan Biggs noted, “There have been many ups and downs throughout these past 25 years, we were especially hard hit when my husband, Charles Biggs, the publisher and editor of the Tulsa Beacon for 22 years passed away unexpectedly. I would like to thank all of our subscribers, advertisers, legal clients and the people who have made this business successful – our staff, writers and volunteers.”
The Tulsa Beacon’s mission throughout this time has been to serve as a newspaper to the Tulsa metro area with a conservative and Christian world view.
