Abortionists, abortion clinics and leftists don’t want pregnant women to have time to reconsider a decision to murder their unborn babies.
The Center for Reproductive rights in New York City has represented Tulsa Women’s Reproductive Clinic in an effort to overturn a state law that mandates that women seeking to kill their unborn babies wait at least 72 hours before going under the knife.
They argue that making a woman wait is an “undue burden.” But that 72 hours could save the life of an innocent unborn baby.
A judge in Oklahoma City has said no to halting House Bill 1409, which went into effect in 2015, because it is a benefit to babies and not a detriment to women.
The problem for the abortionists is that a waiting period gives women a chance to fully realize that they are carrying a baby – a fully human being – and not a “clump of tissue.” That’s bad for business for abortion clinics that deem revenue more important than unborn babies.
Fortunately, Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter, unlike previous AGs, will fight to keep laws passed to deter abortion.
“The U.S. Supreme Court has already recognized that reflection periods ensure that important decisions such as abortion will be more informed and deliberate, and the district court faithfully followed this precedent,” Hunter said. “Studies have shown that women who have the benefit of a reflection period like this change their minds in a significant percentage of cases, saving precious unborn lives.”
Abortion should be illegal in Tulsa, Oklahoma and across the United States. Here’s hoping the Oklahoma Legislature will recognize the value of human life when they reconvene in February and stop the murder in our state.
