The University of Tulsa football program added transfer Jayden Simon to the roster as the junior defensive lineman began classes this month.

Coach Philip Montgomery said Simon, a 6-3, 315-pounder from Tacoma, Washington, transfers to Tulsa from the University of Colorado. He played in eight games in 2021 and recorded three tackles. Simon did not see action in his first two seasons. In 2020, Simon was named the 2020 Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year as a redshirt freshman.

Simon was a 3-star prospect at Lincoln High School and ranked as the No. 11 player in the state of Washington.

Four December signees also began classes this month including linebacker Zachary Neilsen, junior college receiver Nick Rempert, prep receiver Keith Wheeler II and quarterback Cardell Williams. In addition, IMG Academy’s Grant “Cookie” Desiderio, a walk-on running back originally from Somerville, New Jersey, started classes.
