As of Saturday, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane were tied atop the standings of the American Athletic Conference after a 67-54 win at Tulane.

Tulsa (12-6, 4-1 in the AAC) was tied with Houston the standings before the January 22 game here against Memphis (12-3, 3-1).

This is the best start for TU since they went 5-1 in the 2016-17 season. Martins Igbanu paced Tulsa, tying his season high with 19 points. He hit 11 of 12 free throws.

“Our guys really performed well. Tulane is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the league, and they shot only 24-percent from three and 38-percent from the floor. We will take those numbers on the road anytime,” said Tulsa coach Frank Haith.

Tulsa will travel to Connecticut to play at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
